New World Group Scoops 9 HR and Talent Management Honours in the Spirit of Artisans
New World Development Company Limited (“New World Development”, “the Group”; Stock Code: 17.HK) this year launched a new brand personality, The Artisanal Movement, the brainchild of Adrian Cheng, Executive Vice-chairman and Joint General Manager. Each staff member shares the spirit of New World Artisans and such commitment to excellence has recently earned the Group seven honours at the HR Innovation Awards and two honours at the Best Practice Awards 2015.
The Group bagged seven accolades at the HR Innovation Awards, including three Gold awards namely Excellence in HR Strategic Plan, Excellence in Employee Development, and Excellence in Training, Learning & Development Programmes. It also garnered two honours at the Best Practice Awards 2015, including Best Practice in Performance Improvement/Management and Best Practice in Learning Organisation Development, a testament to the Group’s foresight and commitment to developing the best practice that can cope with the fast-changing environment.
Taking an innovative approach to human resources strategy, the Group has introduced various family-friendly measures, including the Inventing Your Future Education Sponsorship Scheme for employees’ children, flexible working hours and family care leave. Breaking with tradition, the Group created a New World Talent page on Facebook to keep job seekers informed of the company’s business and recruitment updates. To attract high-calibre local and overseas candidates to the Group Management Trainee Programme and Internship Programme, a creative screening process was introduced for students to submit their original works online.
In talent training and employment development, the Group has provided innovative and comprehensive programmes different from traditional curriculum. New World University supports the Group’s competence development through various channels including trainings, visits and seminars. The Group also organised sharing sessions by professionals from different fields to broaden employees’ horizons and inspire them to adopt new ideas. To promote an intrapreneurial spirit across the Group, different taskforces and the Incubation Circle were introduced to encourage employees to strive for improvement with a forward-thinking mindset.
Organised by the Human Resources magazine, the HR Innovation Awards recognise outstanding performance in talent management and were selected by a panel of HR professionals based on vision, implementation, impact and efforts. Presented by the Best Practice Management Group, the Best Practice Awards honour companies which have implemented defined business processes to reap tangible benefits to its business and customers.
