New World Group Sponsors and Organises the second Qianhai - Shenzhen - Hong Kong Athletics Carnival for Sports and Cultural Exchange
Following the success with its initial event last year, New World Development Company Limited (the “Group”; Hong Kong Stock Code: 00017) hosted the second Qianhai - Shenzhen - Hong Kong Athletics Carnival along with the Qianhai Authority and China Merchants Shekou Holdings. The organisers extended invitations to over 5,000 participants this year and more than 500 people from Hong Kong joined the exciting carnival for sports and cultural exchange while promoting the development of Hong Kong and Qianhai.
Gary Chen, Executive Director and Joint General Manager of New World Development Company Limited said: the “Qianhai - Shenzhen-Hongkong Cooperation Zone has been in development for over 5 years, and by organising the first Qianhai - Shenzhen - Hong Kong Athletics Carnival and New World Qianhai Financial Forum, over a thousand Hong Kong participants and more than 100 corporations coming to Qianhai were invited. This year, we are pleased to host this event with the Qianhai Authority and China Merchants Shekou Holdings. We hope to foster strong ties between Hong Kong and Shenzhen corporations and we look forward to future opportunities for further collaboration. The Group has invited our strategic business partners to join the event in order to learn about the development of Qianhai and Shekou and heighten Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation awareness and promote cultural exchange.
The carnival, held at the Qianhai, Shekou Free Trade Zone, featured different game booths and performances, creating an exhilarating atmosphere. Nearly 2,000 cyclists as well rode through an arch around the Zone to witness the overall scope. The hip-hop performance by Youth Square garnered a great deal of appreciation and mutual understanding among the youth of Hong Kong and Shenzhen. D．PARK, "The World's First Multiple Intelligence Kids Mall", also sent four animals characters representing different types of intelligence to perform at the carnival.
Established for over five years, Qianhai Shenzhen-Hongkong Cooperation Zone has become a prime location in the Qianhai-Shekou Pilot Free Trade Zone. As of the end of March 2016, there were up to 88,000 registered enterprises, including 3,113 Hong Kong-funded corporations. Qianhai has also become a business base for numerous Hong Kong enterprises and young entrepreneurs. New World Group hosted the second Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Athletics Carnival with the Qianhai Authority to implement and encourage in-depth communications between Shenzhen-Hongkong enterprises and youths, and to foster greater positive feelings throughout society. The event attracted a total of 54 Hong Kong corporations, including the Group’s member companies which include: New World China Land, NWS Holdings, New World Department Store and other partners.
