New World Group Named Distinguished Family-Friendly Employer for Promoting Family Harmony
With a great emphasis on sustainability and staff wellbeing, New World Group (“The Group”) strives to create an ideal work environment and foster a family-friendly culture. The Group and its six subsidiaries have won the Family-Friendly Employer titles in the 2013/14 Family-Friendly Employers Award Scheme for their continuous efforts in implementing family-friendly policies and measures. New World Development Company Limited and NWS Holdings were named Distinguished Family-Friendly Employers and received Special Mentions for being Family-Friendly Employers in 2011 and 2013/14.
Adrian Cheng, Executive Director and Joint General Manager of New World Development Company Limited said, “We care about our people as they are our most important asset. To further promote a family-friendly culture, we have introduced paid family care leave, education scholarships and flexible working hours this year to help staff achieve work-life balance and develop a strong sense of belonging.”
The Group extends its caring spirit to employees’ families by organising a variety of staff and family activities every year. The New World Group Fun Day and New World Group Family Open Day encourage family bonding by spending quality time together. There are also special gifts for staff members and their family members during festivals such as Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Father’s Day and Mother’s Day, plus various interest workshops and recreational activities to promote family harmony among staff.
Organised by the Family Council and participated by over 1,800 companies and organisations, the 2013/14 Family-Friendly Employers Award Scheme recognises outstanding family-friendly practices and encourages implementation of such employment policies and measures to promote care for families in community.
