New World China Land Named "2016 Mainland China’s Top 10 Green Property Developers (Residential)"
New World China Land Limited (“NWCL”) was named "2016 Mainland China’s Top 10 Green Property Developers (Residential)" and "2016 Mainland China’s Top 30 Green Property Developers" in the "2016 Mainland China’s Green Living Forum Cum Launching Ceremony of Green Property Index Report 2016" launched in Beijing on 29 July, with its excellent performance in sustainability and green building.
NWCL has been following the long-term management approach and guidelines on sustainable development, taking strong initiative to improve communities’ environment and living quality while promoting green and healthy lifestyle. Its new residential and commercial projects across the nation proactively adopt various green building design and measures to increase energy efficiency, mitigate water usages and promote the use of eco building materials throughout the building life cycle. NWCL also introduced its own corporate Green Building Design Guidelines, enabling all new projects to elevate their green building performance. Currently, a total of 12 NWCL’s projects have attained U.S. LEED Gold certification or pre-certification, representing a total GFA of 1.45 million square meters. Projects that have attained two star and three star of China “Evaluation Standard for Green Building” cover GFA of over 1 million square meters.
"2016 Mainland China’s Top 30 Green Property Developers" is co-organised by biaozhun007.com and Boao Review, the official magazine of Boao Forum for Asia. A total of 120 property developers have been selected in the preliminary screening. A three–month online vote for the entries was then launched by biaozhun007.com. The judging panel selected this year’s top 30 green property developers in Mainland China based on their overall “Green Index”, which is calculated according to the property developers’ total GFA that has attained China “Evaluation Standard for Green Building” and U.S. LEED certification, online voting results and judging panel’s comments on property developers’ achievement in energy saving and environmental protection.
First launched in 2015, the “Mainland China’s Green Property Developers” award program is supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China, China Building Energy Efficiency Association, China Green Building Council, U.S. Green Building Council, German Sustainable Building Council and BREEAM. The program aims to recognise the award-winning property developers’ achievement in green building and environmental protection and to encourage more developers to put green building into practice.
