HKCEC's dining outlets voted "Favourite Restaurants in Wan Chai"

Renowned for savoury delicaciesand quality service, "HKCEC Restaurants", represented by Congress Restaurant, Golden Bauhinia Cantonese Restaurant and New Shanghai, have been voted collectively a winner in the "Wan Chai Favourite Restaurant 2011".

The eleven winners, among numerous restaurants in Wan Chai, received the highest number of votes from the public and are named favourite restaurants in Wan Chai. HKCEC restaurants were also recommended by Craig Au Yeung, a veteran Hong Kong food critic in his annual Wan Chai's food and culture map. The polling results were announced at the award presentation ceremony held on 11thAugust 2011 and listed in the Wan Chai a la carte.

"Wan Chai Favorite Restaurant Award 2011" was co-organised by Cultural & Leisure Services Committee of Wan Chai District Council and St. James' Settlement, supported by Wan Chai Livelihood Place, and sponsored by Wan Chai District Council and Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Wan Chai District, as defined by the electoral boundary of Wan Chai District Council, includes Hennessy, Oi Kwan, Canal Road, Causeway Bay, Tai Hang, Jardine's Lookout, Broadwood, Happy Valley, Stubbs Road, Southorn and Tai Fat Hau.

Unlike most other exhibition and convention facility management companies, since the opening of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in 1988, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd (HML) has had its own in-house F&B team. To ensure the success of this bold move, HML has assembled a F&B team of over 300 full-time staff and the team successfully caters to nearly 400 banquets annually, as well as ensuring the smooth operation of the HKCEC's seven restaurants. The team also provides customised catering services to over 600 exhibitions, conventions and other events at the HKCEC.
