Organised by the Hong Kong Public Relations Professionals’ Association, the 2nd Hong Kong Public Relations Awards 2014 is widely acclaimed in the industry. The Corporate Social Responsibility Gold Award proved the wide recognition New World Springboard has earned for superior planning, execution and public relations practices. The Group started the sustainable community programme two years ago across six under-resourced districts and has extended the spirit of goodwill to staff members by encouraging them to get involved.
New World Group places great emphasis on equal opportunities for all and spares no effort in promoting social harmony. Launched in 2012, New World Springboard is funded by the New World Group Charity Foundation to provide under-resourced youths aged from seven to 12 with up to seven years of professional sports training. With the aim of fostering young athletes to improve social mobility, the programme helps participants unleash their full potential and develop an indomitable spirit with a positive outlook on life. Last year, outstanding students had the opportunity to meet Jeremy Lin at his training camp in Beijing. In addition, New World Springboard consists of a mentorship programme with staff as mentors offering students guidance, encouragement and support. The programme also extends its support to parents of the students, with a Parent Club established to provide members with various trainings, seminars and exchange activities to help them instil a positive attitude in their children, while enhancing their knowledge of parenting and adolescent psychological development.
Inaugurated in 2010, the Hong Kong Public Relations Awards aim to give due recognition to organisations and teams who have planned and executed excellent and highly effective public relations campaigns. It also provides a platform for demonstrating outstanding accomplishments and professional standards. The judging panel consisted of 15 eminent professionals from the business, public relations, media and art fields who evaluated over 60 outstanding campaigns. The award presentation ceremony was held on 26 September at JW Marriott Hotel.
