New World International Triathlon 2013
First Triathlon on Hong Kong’s Urban Waterfront
Title-sponsored by New World Group and organised by AQUAWIZ, New World International Triathlon 2013, to be held in Tsim Sha Tsui East on 1 December 2013 (Sunday), is the first triathlon to take place in urban Hong Kong with more than 300 international and local participants.
A true test of endurance and sportsmanship, the multi-stage swimming, cycling and running endurance race will feature Olympians including Danylo Sapunov and Yuliya Yelistratova (Ukraine), Joao Silva (Portugal), Simon Agostron (Austria), Tony Dodds (New Zealand), Yuichi Hosoda (Japan) and Vladimir TurBaevskiy (Russia) and representatives from other national and local triathlon teams. The race embraces a total of six categories ranging from Olympic to amateur level.
Elite and Turbo athletes will challenge themselves with swimming 1.2 km in the Victoria Harbour near the International Mail Centre, then cycling 30km along Princess Margaret Road Link and Salisbury Road. Triathletes embarks on the final component of running 7.5 km along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade to finish on Avenue of Stars. There is a shorter "Flash" distance for sprint triathletes as well as Open and Super Star Aquathlon. The race also features a charity Relay category where local elites and amateurs from the respective Hong Kong swimming, cycling and running fields team up in three legs to race the Turbo distance.

Safety is the top priority of this race - all athletes must have passed the selection races or present the required proofs of race experience to become eligible to enter the race. We are glad to see that more than 300 local and international triathletes have prepared and trained themselves well for the race."

New World International Triathlon 2013 will commence at 7:00am on 1 December 2013 (Sunday). Spectators are welcome to watch the exciting races and cheer for the athletes along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront and the Avenue of Stars.
