New World Group Fun Day draws Record-high of 8,000 Staff and Family Members
Organised by New World Development Company Limited (the "Group"; Stock Code: 17.HK), the annual New World Group Fun Day has been held for three years in a row. With participation of staff members and their families and the Group's business partners, the event attracted a record-high of 8,000 participants. The event was also welcomed close to 370 students and parents of New World Springboard, the Group's sustainable community programme, gaving them a weekend filled with fun and happy moments.
Held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 24 November, New World Group Fun Day aims towards enhancing staff's relationships with their families and helping them attain work-life balance. Echoing the Group's dedication towards the development of sports, New World Group Fun Day 2013 is themed NEW WORLD‧SPORTS WORLD, thereby promoting sports and healthy living to colleagues and their families.
The Group Fun Day staged the Basketball League 2013 championships and the Team Competition for Group Companies featuring teams from various departments and group companies. Excitement was in the air when management trainees of 2013 brimmed with energy in their Boxing Dance performance.
Long queues of participants were seen at the many game booths designed to echo this year's theme. The game booth by Citybus and New World First Bus was once again voted champion of the Game Booth Design Competition.Catering to participants across the age spectrum, cultural booths and inflatable games were also available.
Demonstrating the Group's commitment towards corporate sustainability, students from The Fish Traders' School, a collaborator of the Group, gave a performance on stage, which was a booster to their self-confidence. Charity organisations including Green Ladies, Christian Action, New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association and Love‧New World Volunteers Club also participated by holding charity sales at the venue.
The Group Fun Day also spread love and care to close to 370 students and their parents of New World Springboard sustainable community programme. As a token of recognition of their hard work in the programme, outstanding students of New World Springboard from various districts and their parents were invited to join the event, allowing them to immerse themselves in the Group's corporate culture and broaden their horizons.
