New World Group and its 25 group companies are awarded as Caring Companies, recognizing their achievement in corporate social responsibility
New World Development Company Limited ( "New World Group" or the "Group", Hong Kong stock code : 0017) and its 25 group companies are awarded the 2007/08 Caring Company Logo by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service today, recognizing their contribution and outstanding performance in corporate social responsibility during the past year. Over 1500 companies have been awarded as Caring Companies this year. New World Group is proud to be one of the organizations with the higher number of awardees.

The Group and its companies are committed to corporate social responsibility and have been actively participating in and supporting numerous charity projects. The Group's corporate volunteer team provides services to the different organizations and forges a stronger tie with the community.
New World Group always concerns about the development of future young leaders. Executive Director of New World Group, Mr Adrian Cheng Chi-kong said, "Young people are leaders of the future. The long-term prosperity of Hong Kong, as well as the Mainland, will depend on the perseverance and vibrancy of the next generation." The Group launched project named "New World Young Leaders" last year, supporting various programmes for youth development.
New World Group has donated HK$ 5 million to Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation to encourage university students, professionals and volunteers to improve the livelihood of the poor from remote areas through sustainable bridge projects. "Chinese Culture Week", "My Generation of Chinese-Guangdong-Hong Kong Student Exchange Programme" and "Youth in Excellence-Advantages and Cooperation between Hong Kong and Mainland Youth 10 Years after the Establishment of the HKSAR" were promoting the exchange and integration of the young people as well as nurturing future leaders in the Mainland and Hong Kong.
The New World Group is also supportive to the meaningful initiatives of Médecins Sans Frontières ("MSF"). Group continued to encourage staff members to support the event by donating one day's income. HK$520,000 was raised and the Group was proud to be the most generous contributor and also the corporation with the highest number of participants.
