New World Development and Huawei Form Strategic Partnership, Applying AI Cloud Technology to the Real Estate Sector and Leading Digital Transformation of Industry through PropTech
New World Development Company Limited (“NWD”) and Huawei International Co. Limited (“Huawei”) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The cooperation combines Huawei’s technologies in artificial intelligence, cloud service and big data with NWD’s real estate industry expertise in both Mainland China and Hong Kong to facilitate the sustainable development of the real estate industry. The strategic partnership also aims to facilitate the digital transformation of the industry, and promote the development of PropTech (property technology) by leveraging solutions such as energy-efficient buildings and low-carbon construction, across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
Exploring innovative PropTech solutions to promote sustainable development
The MoU was signed by Paul Sin, Director of Technology & Transformation at NWD and Ambrose Tang, Deputy Managing Director of the Enterprise Business Group at Huawei. The two parties will jointly explore innovative PropTech solutions in areas such as digital innovation in the property industry, asset-light transformation, smart energy conservation and low-carbon construction.
As stated, Huawei will explore ways to utilize and apply its technologies and infrastructures in 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud service, virtual reality etc. in the real estate industry and build a one-stop smart platform for NWD covering service, management and operation. Huawei will also promote the sustainable development of the real estate industry by facilitating the application of ICT (Information and communications technology) in clean energy, low-carbon construction and energy-efficient buildings.
