K11 MUSEA Breaks Chinese New Year Golden Week Footfall Record Watch and Jewellery Sales More than Doubled YoY, with Largest Single Purchase Surpassing HK$2 Million
New World Development Company Limited (“New World Development” or the “Group”; Hong Kong Stock Code: 00017) announced that this year, with inbound visitors to Hong Kong surged during Chinese New Year Golden Week, the Group’s international cultural retail landmark, K11 MUSEA saw robust growth in footfall and spending. According to the Group, from 16 February to 22 February (Chinese New Year Eve to the 6th day of the Chinese New Year), footfall at K11 MUSEA increased 10% year-on-year, the highest since opening. Tourist sales also recorded a year-on-year growth of 60%, while the largest single purchase hit over HK$2 million during the period.
To celebrate the Year of the Horse, K11 MUSEA hosted a series of festive events, including the Lion Dance Performance by the Keung’s Dragon & Lion Dance Team. Earlier, K11 also introduced the “Voyage of Flavours” Tasting e Vouchers (valued at over HK$1,500 per person) and collaborated with Alipay on tourist reward campaigns to boost visitor spending. Member sales rose 54% year-on-year, with watches & jewellery and international luxury brands delivering the strongest performance, posting year-on-year increases of 140% and 40% respectively.
In addition, the Chinese New Year Fireworks Display lit up Victoria Harbour on the second day of the Chinese New Year. Many travellers and residents chose to dine at K11 MUSEA while taking in the festive spectacle, with harbour-view restaurants such as Deng G, Greyhound Café Galleria, and the newly opened Japanese eel specialty restaurant Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa seeing near‑full reservations.
In recent months, both visitor arrivals to Hong Kong and the city’s overall retail sales have continued to record year‑on‑year growth. The Group remains optimistic about the retail outlook for the year and expects K11 MUSEA to sustain robust footfall and strong sales performance during the upcoming Chinese Mainland’s Labour Day Golden Week.
